Course Description
This 12-14 Hour Paediatric First Aid course is ideal for workers in the School & Pre-School environment and enables those persons working within childcare with a sound knowledge and understanding of adult, child and baby first aid procedures. All attendees will also be able to recognise childhood medical conditions and carry out the correct emergency treatment required until medical professionals arrive to assist. The course meets all the requirements of Sure Start, OFSTED and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

- The Unconscious Casualty Management (Primary & Secondary Survey)
- Safe Airway Position (Recovery Position)
- Choking (Adult/Child/Baby)
- Burns & Scalds
- Head, Neck & Spinal Injuries
- CPR Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (Adult/Child/Baby)
- Minor Injuries
- Bleeding & Shock
- Fractures & Dislocations
- Poisoning
- Electric Shock
- Conditions of Heat & Cold
- Common Medical Conditions including: Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma, Febrile Convulsions, Anaphylaxis, Meningitis, Sickle Cell Anaemia
- Accident Reporting, Hygiene & First Aid Kits
Course Assessment
This course is subject to ongoing assessment by the Instructor throughout the course. There is a multiple choice theory assessment along with a short practical assessment on the final session of the training. The Instructor leading the course carries out all assessments in a low stress environment.
Course Certification
All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate, which meets all the requirements laid down by Sure Start, OFSTED, and the EYFS, this certificate is valid for three years.

On-site courses start from £580.00 for up to and including 16 students.
