Course Description
This course is for clinical or non-clinical staff working in health care organisations such as Doctors Surgeries, Walk in centres, Dental Practices, Physiotherapy Departments and Alternative Therapy organisations. You will receive training on the latest Basic Life Support protocols from the UK Resuscitation Council.
This course is also suitable for First Aiders in the workplace to act as a skills Update between requalification courses. The current HSE guidelines now "strongly recommend" that First Aiders in the workplace attend a 3 hour update annually before taking a requalification course after 3 years.

- Aims of First Aid
- Dealing with an Emergency
- Priorities of Treatment
- The Unconscious Casualty Management (Primary & Secondary Survey)
- Choking
- Bleeding & Shock
- Burns & Scalds
- Fractures, Dislocations, Strains & Sprains
- CPR Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Poisoning
- Head & Spinal Injuries
- Common Medical Conditions including:
- Heart Attack, Angina, Stroke, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma, Hyperventilation & Anaphylaxis.
- Accident Reporting, Hygiene & First Aid Kits
Course Assessment
Although there is no formal assessment the trainer will observe students during the practical group work, giving help and advice to ensure the student maintain a suitable standard.
Course Certification
All Students attending the course and taking a full and active part in the course. will receive a Basic Life Support / Annual Skills Update Certificate valid for 1 year.
Course Costs
On-site courses start from £260.00 for up to and including 12 students.

Courses can be split in to smaller bit size chunks to suit your personal needs at an additional cost.
