This 3 day First Aid at Work course replaces the old 4 day First Aid at Work course. It is suitable for higher hazard workplaces such as construction sites and factories or workplaces with more than 50 employees.

The First Aid at Work course will enable individuals designated as the First Aiders at work to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency. Following the course attendees will be able to manage a casualty who has been injured at work, or suffers from a serious illness, until the emergency services arrive. Each on site course will be tailored around your workplace environment where possible.

  • Aims of First Aid
  • Dealing with an Emergency
  • Priorities of Treatment
  • The Unconscious Casualty Management (Primary & Secondary Survey)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding & Shock
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Fractures, Dislocations, Strains & Sprains
  • CPR Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Poisoning
  • Head & Spinal Injuries
  • Common Medical Conditions including:
  • Heart Attack, Angina, Stroke, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma, Hyperventilation & Anaphylaxis.
  • Accident Reporting, Hygiene & First Aid Kits

Course Assessment

All attendees are required to undertake an assessment on the final day of the course; both practical and theoretical aspects will be assessed. The assessments are carried out by two external assessors who have not been involved in the teaching of the course. Our assessors are trained to carry out the assessments in a low stress environment and to install confidence in all attendees.

Course Certification

All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate approved by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE); this certificate is valid for three years. The HSE strongly recommend despite the certification being valid for 3 years that First Aiders should attended a 3 hour skills update course annually.

Course Costs

On-site courses start from £1250.00 for up to and including 12 students.

Courses can be split in to smaller bit size chunks to suit your personal needs at an additional cost.

Individual places on our open courses start from £160.00 per person.
